A Lucky Find
To the Koon Family, If you found this little clover, you found the one thing I tucked away just for you. When I married into this family, I was the new guy. I didn't grow up in these videos, and I don't share all of the stories behind them. But somewhere along the way, you stopped making me feel like I was just visiting and started making me feel like I belonged. Thank you for welcoming me, for loving me like I'd always been part of the family, and for giving me a place in memories that started long before I arrived. I'm not always the most graceful person at saying what I mean, so I figured I'd hide it here instead. Working on these tapes gave me something I didn't expect. I wasn't just restoring old home movies. I got to spend time with younger versions of all of you, watch the little moments that eventually became family legends, and understand a little more about the people I love today. I hope these videos make you laugh, make you tell stories, and remind you that the ordinary days are usually the ones we end up missing the most. Thank you for letting me be a small part of the Koon family story.
